There will be NO ON-SITE PARKING this year. Please park at either the Post Office or the Marstons Mills Elementary School on Main Street. Thanks to the Barnstable Senior Center's Silver Express, vans will be available to shuttle you back and forth.

Program Details

Catch And Release Fishing Derby
This is hosted by the Cape Cod Salties and Trout Unlimited  -  there are lots of great prizes awarded in this event!
~   Participants must be 16 years or younger (14 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.)
~   Participants 15 and older must be duly licensed to fish in fresh water.
~   Bring your own bait, poles, nets, etc.
~   The Derby is limited to the first 50 to register!
~   Registration is required before the Derby begins ~ there is no fee:

A climb-through model of a septic tank! Presented by the Barnstable Health Division, with thanks to Boy Scouts Of America, Troop 52, Cotuit for their assistance.

Mercury Recycling Program
Bring your mercury-containing devices (not fluorescent bulbs) for safe disposal. Receive a free non-toxic digital thermometer in exchange for your mercury fever thermometers!

These are informative and educational presentations about local initiatives helping to preserve the Marstons Mills River, presented by:

~   Barnstable Water Watchers

50/50 Scholarship Raffle ~ Including 30+ Prizes From Local Merchants [worth up to $100 each!]
Proceeds to benefit scholarships from the Cape Cod Conservation District and the Marstons Mills Village Association.
The Drawing is at 2:30; you need not be present to win. The 2002 MMVA scholarships were awarded to: Daria Alladio, Kimberly Monroe and Brian Scheets; in 2003 CCCD will award two scholarships to the Massachusetts Junior Conservation Camp in Chesterfield, MA.

Interpretive Walks At The Mill Pond
10:30  ~  Herring Run update with Kevin Galvin of the Liberty Hall Club.
11:30  ~  Exploring pond life with Andy Bowersox, Barnstable High School Science teacher.
12:30  ~  StormTreat tour with Mark Nelson, Senior Hydrologist, Horsley & Witten.

Tours Of Prince Cove And The Marstons Mills River
1:30  ~  Marstons Mills River tour with Al Baker of the Liberty Hall Club.
 Also:    Boat tours of Prince Cove with the Town of Barnstable's Natural Resources Division [times to be announced].


Recycling Puppet Show

Presented by AmeriCorps-Cape Cod, an educational program of Cape Cod Cooperative Extension Service.
