Correspondence

Public Comment
Four calls were received regarding the minutes no longer being printed and mailed. All the calls were people who would miss the printed mailing. However, on follow up calls from the secretary, two of the calls were concerned with the Villager continuing to come, one was concerned that emailing the minutes would spread viruses, and only one will truly miss the minutes and has no home access to the Marstons Mills Website. Also, it was suggested that the Directors list their web addresses at the end of the minutes to facilitate contact.
Discussion ensued. It was eventually proposed to put the minutes on the website, not mail them, and print a couple dozen for the Board and to leave in the Burgess House at the time of the monthly meetings. This was voted and passed unanimously.
Council Report
No town councilors were present.
Old Business
Subcommittee Reports:
Burgess House: Craig Larson noted that the Girl Scouts are interested in using the Burgess House for their meetings. They would like to arrange payment in terms of a set number of new members rather than cash. Craig feels this is a good precedent, and would like to find other groups to use the House with a similar arrangement.
Phone installation in the Burgess House: After discussion this decision was put off until after Village Day due to concerns that we may not be able to spare the money with the winter and heating costs coming up
River Day: No news.
Village Day: Extensive discussion of the details of setup and assignment of volunteers. Meetinghouse Farms would like to set up a table for a raffle that does not directly benefit our town, but, it was noted, will engender goodwill among the other village associations. This was voted 7 for and 3 abstentions, and passed.
Membership And Newsletter: No news (see above)
Scholarship: No news.
Local Comprehensive Plan: The revised draft of the plan was passed out. Copies are available at the Burgess House. The final draft should be available 1/05.
Herring Run: Work on installing culverts continues this fall.
New Business
None.
Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 8:37 PM. The next meeting will be October 5, 2004.
