Links Are Located In The Bottom Frame
At the bottom of each page there is a gray frame that starts with "Links: ...." which provides navigational links for the page. Also, the date that the page was updated is located in this frame.

Additionally, where appropriate, there is a place where you can send an e-mail. When you click on this it will open your e-mail in composition mode with the "To" address all filled in. Just type a subject, the contents, then send it.

These links [and all other links on this site] are shown underlined and are almost always shown in dark blue [like this]. When you have followed the link, it will change color to black [like this]. The major exception to this is on the Links To Other Marstons Mills Sites page where for readability purposes the links are always shown in black.

Knowing When A Page Has Been Updated
On the Home page [the Welcome To Marstons Mills page] each of the main links have wording starting with "New ...." or "Updated ....". When these are dark blue in color that means that you have either never gone to that page in our site before or the page has been updated since you last visited it.

When you do visit the page, then the "New ...." or "Updated ...." on the Home page will change to be black in color and stay black until it is updated again.

So when you come to our Welcome To Marstons Mills page, if the link shows as "New ...." or "Updated ...." [in black] that means that nothing has been updated on that page since you last visited it.

For this feature to work right, we're assuming you keep the history of the pages that you visit for a reasonable period of time. If you don't keep enough history [or periodically reset it] the links will revert back to dark blue, giving you a false indication that it has been updated.

With Internet Explorer, you can review and adjust your history settings as follows:

Click [at the very top] on "Tools", then on "Internet Options...".
In the "History" box you will see the "Days to keep pages in history".
The value here should be at least as many days as the frequency in which you visit the site.
So if you only visit only once every couple of weeks, this should be set to [for example] 30 days. When done, click "OK".
If you click on "Clear History", this log will be reset and it will be like you never visited any page [and any other site] before.

Text Size
This site was designed to be viewed with the Medium setting on text size. With Internet Explorer, you can review and adjust your setting as follows:

Click [at the very top] on "View" then on "Text Size".
Select the size that you like.

How To Make Marstons Mills Your Home Page
This will change the page that is first displayed when you start Internet Explorer.

Write down these next couple of instructions, as you have to leave this page to make this setting.
Click on the "Home" link at the bottom of this page [This will take you to the marstonsmills.org Home page].
Once at the Home page, click [at the very top] on "Tools", then on "Internet Options...".
In the "Home page" box click on the "Use Current" button, then click "OK".
The next time you start your browser the Welcome To Marstons Mills page will be the first displayed.

Full Screen Viewing
With Internet Explorer, you can toggle to [and from] full screen viewing by pressing the F11 key. The full screen mode is useful on pages with large pictures and those with a lot of text.

Having A Problem With Pictures And Images Showing?
If all pictures or images [like the flag on the home page] are not showing and you use some type of advertising or pop-up window suppression software, you'll need to go into that software and allow marstonsmills.org to pass through.

While these products are all different in structure, there is usually a section called "Filters" [or something similar] and what you'll need to do is to add marstonsmills.org to the list, but allow all activity to pass through [we don't use cookies or any ads or pop-up windows].
